Mentoring

A mentorship is one that needs to be fostered with integrity, growth and built on a non-judgemental ethos.

Here at Organic Education, we walk alongside those who share these same beliefs. We are here for one reason and one reason only, to support those around us who share the same drive to be more authentic and driven than they were the day before.

We believe that having an external mentor promotes accountability and the experience we have had in mentoring, proves this point! An external mentor can often see through the clutter that may be in your head and heart and help you to see the forest for the trees. They help you to focus and make progress by working through experiences with a clear intent of reflection and progress. All of our mentors currently hold their Tūturu | Full Practising Certificate (Category One) and will do for the duration of your relationship. Thus meaning that they have the capability to endorse your certification if necessary.

If you would like to build a relationship of authenticity, professionalism and empowerment then we are here.

Over a 12 month period you will have either monthly or bi-monthly meetings with your mentor that will always focus on growth. Your mentor will either initiate your professional growth cycle or integrate the points of discussion into your PGC, if already begun. Irrespective of your role, qualification or leadership level, we can support.

In between meetings, your mentor is only ever an email or a phone call away. Your mentor has an allowance for 1-2 brief communications in between meetings to ensure that you never feel unsure or perhaps would like to clarify something. Sometimes, it is great just to debrief to a friendly and supportive voice for a minute!

We offer a complimentary half hour session with you either face to face if you live in the Ōtautahi area, or via Zoom if you are located elsewhere in Aotearoa. This is a way for both you and your mentor to establish whether you feel that your connection will be a good fit. We acknowledge and appreciate

the importance of the connection between the mentor and mentee as it needs to be a

connection based on authenticity.

Holding a full certification is an incredibly wonderful responsibility that we should feel honoured and proud to hold. Ensure that you maintain best practice and strive for quality as your mentor supports you to continue to unfold your potential.

Mentoring for professional leaders

Growth as a leader takes time, consistency and insight. Our mentors are well experienced in leadership and use a broad range of strategies to provoke your thinking which support you to build your teams potential. Leading a team of professionals is complex and involves wearing many hats - many times, simultaneously. Reflect alongside a mentor who is outside of your bubble and will support you to declutter your thoughts and prioritise positive implementation of growth.

Mentoring for home based specific educators

Home based educating has a unique status, therefore it requires tailored mentoring. Our mentors have taught in a visiting teacher capacity and therefore understand the complexity of supporting educators with varying knowledge.
